USU Analytical Laboratories does not offer a buffer pH test for lime requirement. Average UT soil pH ≈ 8.0; majority calcareous. The agronomic challenge in UT is the OPPOSITE of acidity — LOWERING pH via organic matter + elemental sulfur (with the caveat that residual lime in the soil counteracts sulfur).
