UGA moved off Adams-Evans (LBC method adopted in 2004, refined to Equilibrium Lime Buffer Capacity / LBCEq in 2025). Method: pH measured before and 30 minutes after adding a single dose of 0.023 M Ca(OH)2 to the soil; LBC30 calculated; LBCEq derived via published piecewise equation; lime requirement calculated from LBCEq, initial pH, and target pH. The 1.5 multiplier in UGA's formula implicitly assumes agricultural lime at ~67% CaCO3 equivalent — matches UDel's Coastal Plain convention.
