SCS-2001-05 'Managing Soil Acidity' uses a pH × soil texture lookup. **MOST OF TEXAS does NOT need lime** — limestone bedrock makes most cropland naturally pH 7+. Acidic exceptions: East Texas Piney Woods, parts of Blackland Prairie, intensively-fertilized South Texas. Texas Panhandle and West Texas should expect 'no lime needed' as the normal answer.
